Music Lessons begin....Now.

I am very excited to say...that one of my good friends will be giving me piano and guitar lessons (if I can focus on two things at once) starting...well last week I guess.

Music is one language that I think everyone can speak through in some way. Whether you know how to play an instrument or just the radio, everyone enjoys some type of music...and if they don't..well they probably aren't human. (joke)

I have always loved music. I love to sing (not so much in front of people) and have learned to plunk around on the piano here and there and even taught my self to play a very small amount of guitar. But it has been on the days that I need to just enter into my own little world to relax and can't play a darn thing. So I have decided that it is time to really get down and learn myself some music!

Of course right now I feel a little over ambitious. I love all different types of music and want to be able to play them all...but that will take some time!
Any who, I thought I would share with you some of my favorites! Maybe you could chime in and share some of yours with me! ...unless no one reads this and I am only writing to my computer. That would be a little awkward.
Right! now then!...here we go!...

I have recently discovered Yo Yo Ma (thanks Miko!)

Instrumental Jazz has always been a favorite of mine. Vince Guaraldi (don't mind the Christmas song;))

Josh Wilson is probably my top Christian artist

I can't wait to really begin to play! I love to sing and worship the Lord but it is so much better when you can have music to do it to. And I love how God uses music to bring us into worship before church or even when you are by yourself. See? Even He knows the language of music :)

God bless :)

Hiding Place...

You are my hiding place,
You always fill my heart with song of deliverance,
Whenever I am afraid,

I will trust in you,
I will trust in you,
Let the weak say I am strong in the strength of the Lord,
I will trust in you.

Have a blessed day :)

Black and White

A friend of mine inspired todays blog!
She posted a photo album on Facebook of all black and white pictures! It totally changes your whole perspective of things!
Now don't get me wrong...I love color more than anything! But sometimes its cool to switch it up!

I did a black and white album a long time ago on my youth groups trip to Tennessee...and I completely forgot about it until now! Here are some cool shots I found...

Beautiful Rain

Oh my goodness the beautiful rain. It simply but powerfully brings the earth to life as the flowers, trees, and grass drink in its refreshing nourishment.

It reminds me of what God does for us when we are in the midst of a trial. The storm is raging inside of us not knowing what to do or where to turn, when secretly God is giving us power, life, and strength in Him. Teaching us how to completely depend on Him for survival.
After this long week, a friend of mine called me out of the blue on his way home, mainly of boredom from the long drive...at the end of our conversation he told me I sounded as if I were at the end of my rope of strength and didn't know what to pray for. As the tears came to my eyes he shared something with me that his pastor shared with them in church that morning.
He was in the store and trying to check out, he had his son with him and there was a lot of noise and commotion going on around him, when all of a sudden his son fell and yelled out for his daddy. At that moment the brother said everything completely went quiet around him... all the noise faded away and he dropped everything to run to his sons side...and that is exactly what God does for us. As soon as we cry out for help to Him, he drops everything and rushes to our rescue.
How absolutely beautiful. It gave me a new boost of faith in my Father. Last weeks problems completely faded from my mind...and I just felt God's love for me so strong...
I just had to share this with all of you because it brought such joy to my heart knowing that our Father cares for us that much.
Remember this friends. Satan trembles when we get on our knees to pray. He knows his days are numbered and that through Christ we have full power over him. Don't let him make you think you don't.
Drink in the rain of life God offers us every day.

Have a blessed day :)

Indescribable

Louie Giglio does a fabulous job with his videos,"How Great is Our God" and "Indescribable," in describing how indescribable God really is. As unfathomable as it is to me, to see how big God really is, I think you would all enjoy watching Louie's videos. He shows how big the planets, stars, and galaxies are compared to Earth...and the numbers he uses I just can't wrap my little brain around it. But the pictures Louie shows are incredible!

Milky way (our galaxy)

This week, satan has been throwing me, literally, one punch after the other in a matter of minutes at some points. But thankfully...I serve a God who is the great comforter, creator, healer, savior, ect, ect, ect. I could go on for ever! We watched Louie Giglio's video called "Indescribable" in church last night...and it gave me the backup I would need for today.

One thing Louie said last night was that God created every star, named them, and put them exactly in their place...I believe this...but have a hard time grasping it. Then he said as an example, that God could come into the stadium Louie was speaking at, and could point to every person there and know them by name. That just hit me...that (even though I've always believed it...just hit me more this time) God really did create everyone of us...and really does know us down to the very last cell in our body. How incredible is that!

So when we are upset, worried, or hurt about something...God knows. He feels what we feel. That is so encouraging to me.
Pslam 56:8 "Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? 9When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; For God is for me.
10In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
11In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
12Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
13For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?"

How great is our God. You cannot place Him in a box...He created everything. There is nothing He can't do.

Remember friends...
Have a blessed day :)

In loving memory...

This blog post is dedicated to the wonderful memories of a dear friend of mine, Broc Fejes, who passed away this past weekend in a boating accident. I'm sending all of my love and prayers to his sweet family and friends during this time.

As sad as something like this is...it is always nice to reminisce in the memories we hold dear to our hearts of this cherished friend.

Broc, we all love and miss you dearly. We will cherish the memories we have of you and will never forget that bright smile that lifted so many of us on some of our worst days. Thank you for all of the days you shared a laugh with me and cheered me right up.
Sending our love to you dear friend.

I thought this song was a good encouragement for this situation.  God is the great comforter in every time of our life and I know in time He will bring peace in this time as well.

Destination Delaware

Aaah vacation. How sweet the sound of such words!

We spent 4 days in Middletown, Delaware visiting different places to eat, shop, and relax.
The city was so rustic!
Saw this really cool coast guard boat!
And the Barns and Noble building was pretty awesome!

So our first day we went to an aquarium, which also had a 4D short of the series Planet Earth. It was quite an exciting 11 minutes that consisted of being snowed on, blown over by the dessert winds, splashed and eaten by a shark, and finally cooled off with a refreshing squirt from an elephants trunk...that one I was kind of expecting.
After the short we started exploring the different levels of the ocean and the creatures that come with it. Unfortunately it was a lot harder to get pictures than I thought it would be...but I got a few!

Poor giant turtle only had three legs

 Can you spot the sloth?

Sneaky little turtle

In the top level of the aquarium they had a rainforest for as well!

And on to the dolphins and Jellyfish!

Woops! Everyone was swimming upside down!

Group shot :)

On our third day we finally got to go visit the horse farm! I was so excited I forgot to take more pictures lol The couple that owns the place has 21 horses, 4 of which are Friesians! Here are the few pictures I remembered to snap :)

Pretty sure she was posing for me. She stood there like that until I was done take my picture lol

4 year old Colt with one blue eye and one brown eye!

This was only half of their barn!

And last but certainly not least, our last day of vacation was spent at the beach! And oh how wonderful the beach was!

this girl rode the waves in for hours!
 this inspired me...
to make this! :)
Honestly after this relaxing week of vacation...I was ready to come and relax! lol But what a nice get away for the family and we got to spend the whole week with dad!
Have a blessed weekend friends and a safe Fourth of July!
:)
