Thursdays

I'm pretty sure Thursday has always been my favorite day of the week.

1 Corinthians 6:12

All things are lawful unto me,
but all things are not expedient:
all things are lawful for me,
but I will not be brought under the power of any.

This was the last scripture Bro. Paul read last night at the end of service. Such a powerful revelation of who I am in God. I know I definitely need more confidence in that area...but it's coming :)

Have a blessed Thursday friends! <3

It's been a while friend...

Hi there :)

It's been a while, has it not? It's a lot harder to think of interesting things to blog about when school is on my mind so much.
But because it has been a while, I have a few things I can share.

First of all, today I got a call at 3:30 a.m. to tell me that a very dear friend and sister of mine was in labor to have her first baby girl! I spent the morning with my niece so my sister-in-law could be with her sister while she delivered that new life into this big world. It was pretty fun explaining to Aubrie that the baby was coming :))

Secondly, school has been quite the journey this past few weeks. Very stressful, which I still haven't mastered how to handle that well, but in the end, my wonderful family was there to pick up the pieces and encourage me to keep pressing on.
The class that most of my classmates (including myself) are failing, has finally begun to turn around after some prayer and an e-mail to my professor. So please keep me in your prayers as I work to bring my grade up! God is so good and ever willing to help me!

My family is in Texas for two weeks....which I do not like because I didn't get to go. My dear grandparents are out there and it burns in my heart so much that I can't be there with them all. But, good news has come back to me that they are all doing very well!

My garden is looking very nice, and I am so happy about that. All of my seedlings are getting pretty big, and I bought a few bigger plants to fill in the gaps of the seedlings.
I think my favorite thing in there, so far, is my sugar snap peas. My dad and I planted the seeds together and they are now about six inches tall and have those little curly projections reaching out to find the post to grow upward!

 Sugar snap peas!
Herbs
(I'll have to get an updated picture today because everything is so much bigger from when I took this picture!!!)

It's so exiting to watch things grow. There is a lot of growth going on around me. Plants, babies, people, myself spiritually. That's what I love most about this time of year. God makes everything grow so beautifully.

Well dear friends, thanks for reading. Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. I hope this finds you all doing so well.
God bless you and enjoy this beautiful day God has given us!
(In the words of Aubriella this morning..."It's time to get up Aunt Bo! It's a new day!")

Oh, good morning :)

I just want to thank the Lord for this beautiful day and for helping me tackle my anesthesia math homework AND be in bed before midnight last night.

My God is so mindful. Even though my human body can't handle the school workload...My God can.

And I'm so thankful.

Just some thoughts this morning.

I hope you all have a great day!

"Bring all your needs to the alter,
Bring al your needs to the Lord,
He is so willing and able to help you,
So bring all your needs to the Lord."

My Anchor

Just want to say that I love the Lord and am so thankful for all He has done for me.
So glad the anchor is still holding me no matter how dark and confusing the world gets. My God is not the author of confusion.

You must believe that God is separate from the world and that some of the things we see in it are contrary to His will- C. S. Lewis

The anchor holds,
Though the ship is battered,
The anchor holds,
In spite of the storm
I have fallen on my knees,
As I faced the raging seas,
The anchor holds,
In spite of the storm

The Ultimate Love Story...

I love my blog.
Not because I think I do a good job with writing my very random posts...but because when I want to post something that was an encouragement to me, in hopes that it will encourage someone else, and that post happens to be a tad too long for Facebook...my lovely blog is there...waiting to be filled with words of nonsense that come no where near expressing how I feel.

A dear friend of mine sang a song in church called "Not Guilty"
It talks about how God, the final judge of this life, pardons us...because He loves us. How is that possible? That someone so great could love me....with all of my mistakes that I make everyday. As hard as I try not to...I fail God everyday.

And yet...He still chose to save me from sin...from a life of death...to love. me.

You want to read the ultimate love story, friends? Read your Bible.
Now, don't run away just yet. I know the Bible, to a lot of people, probably seems like a religious duty, or a bunch of old English mumbo jumbo.
But have you ever taken the time to actually read it?
Every story within that book...all comes together as one big love story that God has written for us.
I could go into a blubbering rampage of all the different stories, but I think that is one post that would be too long for blogger :)

Anyways...I wanted to share the lyrics to that song mentioned earlier.
Take the time to read the words. So precious.

Enjoy.

Verse 1:
I stand accused, there's a list a mile long
Of all my sins, of everything that I've done wrong
I'm so ashamed, there's nowhere left for me to hide
This is the day, I must answer for my life
My fate is in the Judges hands,
But then he turns to me and says

Chorus:
I know you, I love you
I gave my life, to save you
Love paid the price for mercy
My verdict, not guilty

Verse 2:
How can it be, I cannot begin to comprehend
What kind of Grace would take the place for all my sins
I stand in awe, now that I have been set free
And the tears well up, as I look at that Cross
'Cause it should've been me
My fate was in the nail scarred hands,
He stretched them out for me and said...

Chorus:
I know you, I love you
I gave my life, to save you
Love paid the price, for Mercy
My verdict, not guilty

The Elements Song

Alright...here is my next goal...to learn the Elements Song by Tom Lehrer

Those of you who have no idea who he was or what this song is...here it is...

If I actually master this song...I will post a video of me singing it....maybe.
