Aah Life Erupts!

As you all know, I've been quite excited about my garden. :)
But I have finally found a hobby that constantly keeps me busy and focused on something other than school!

Any who...Here is what my seed starters have been looking like...

Life is exploding!!!

Aah, beautiful!

Look at these babies go!

That is all for now! It is very satisfying knowing that you planted a seed and life came forth.

Finals...We Meet Again.

Ah yes the beloved finals week is upon me yet again!
Meh, that's ok. I get a week break after this and I totally know this stuff! (this being my second time in these classes I had better know this stuff.)

Anywho...just thought I would pay tribute like I do each time finals come around.

And Lord willing, if all goes well, this gal will graduate in December! Woot woot!
Please continue to pray for me and it will be greatly, greatly appreciated!!! And if I ever find out who prays for me...I will return the favor. If I don't find out on this earth...when I get to heaven I will send blessings to you!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend dear ones!

Summer Project: Phase Two and Three

At last, an update for my summer garden project! Being a first time gardener, I am calling on my dad for much of his knowledge, not only from gardening himself, but from his father's experience as well.

It is cool to think that he gained all of his knowledge from his dad's experience, and now I will be gaining knowledge from my dad's experience. Keeping tradition in the family!

So here is phase two of my garden. The box was built in phase one, and now it is almost filled for phase two. I have a small pile of soil left to shovel in as soon as I spread some fertilizer around.

Here it is! Almost filled! And my finger in the corner!
(It was bright I couldn't see what was on the screen)

And now for phase three. I went to Lowes last night (favorite place ever!) and bought some seed starters and some seeds. Aubriella helped me fill them with soil and put the seeds in.

Luckily my dad had some markers from the seed starters he used to do when we lived in Michigan.

I was thinking today. God is obviously my joy in this life. Without Him I know I would not be happy and would, without a doubt, be searching for something to fill me, as do most people in this world.
I have come to find...that Jesus Christ...is exactly what my soul is in search of constantly. I wish I could make people feel what I feel. But all I can say is that salvation is a free gift, offered to all people.

Along with God, there are little things in this world that bring happiness. (Joy and happiness are two completely different things.) My life and relationship with the Lord is my JOY. But the little things like gardening, cooking, music, singing, ect are what bring me happiness. When He blesses me it brings me both happiness and joy.

Ok before I take off and get confusing, I suppose I will leave it at that for now :)

I'll keep updating as I go along, of course.

But stop and think today...if you are searching for something...try talking to God. His love (agape) is amazing.

God bless friends. Enjoy this lovely day.

DIY: Cool Stationary

Since my letter writing has taken off splendidly, I had the idea of making my own stationary because I had none. A friend of mine told me that her sister used to make paper that looked like it was a hundred years old...so I thought I would give it a try :)

Here is what you need...
*plain white paper
*teabags/hot water
*blow dryer
*candle/matches
*area to make a small mess

First thing I did was to let the tea bag steep in the hot water for a minute, then I proceeded to wipe it, re-dip, and wipe some more until the paper was pretty wet and tea stained.

Because I didn't want to sit for hours and wait for the paper to dry, I whipped out my blow dryer and flipped it on high to make it go really fast! Once it started to dry I held the paper in my hand and let it flip  around a bit to make the paper crinkley...or you could just crinkle it when it's dry...but thats too easy ;)

Once dry, I folded and tore the paper in half to make smaller pieces...I've always liked writing on smaller paper for some reason. You can leave it whole if you want of course!

And then I went to work burning the edges over a candle...be careful. I will say no more.

Once the edges are burned you have a finished product!!!
 And you can begin writing!
Yay!

I would love to hear or see any one's idea for homemade stationary! The friend I am writing painted hers with water colors! How beautiful!

Have a wonderful night friends, enjoy this gorgeous weather, and happy writing!

Has Spring yet again sprung???

Ah I can hardly contain my excitement! Today, after a long weekend of snow and more snow, we finally hit the 50 degree weather mark!

I spent the morning reading my book, went to work, came home and washed my car (not quite warm enough for that yet but it happened anyways), did some homework, was interrupted by Aubriella for some play time, had a delicious dinner, made a bon fire with my sister, and will finish my homework when this blog is done being written.

Yes friends, all in all a wonderful springy day!

What struck the most excitement for me today was the bonfire...

:)

Besides taking walks, this is one of my families favorite things to do together during the summer time.

As the week goes on the weather is supposed to remain quite nice (so the forecast is telling me).

Ahh to have beautiful weather again. To see flowers grow and to smell that gorgeous lilac bush in my front yard every time I walk by an open window. To be able to get outside and breath that fresh air which you cannot often do in the winter time...yes...I believe that spring is almost sprung!

:D
