DIY: Cool Stationary

Since my letter writing has taken off splendidly, I had the idea of making my own stationary because I had none. A friend of mine told me that her sister used to make paper that looked like it was a hundred years old...so I thought I would give it a try :)

Here is what you need...
*plain white paper
*teabags/hot water
*blow dryer
*candle/matches
*area to make a small mess

First thing I did was to let the tea bag steep in the hot water for a minute, then I proceeded to wipe it, re-dip, and wipe some more until the paper was pretty wet and tea stained.

Because I didn't want to sit for hours and wait for the paper to dry, I whipped out my blow dryer and flipped it on high to make it go really fast! Once it started to dry I held the paper in my hand and let it flip  around a bit to make the paper crinkley...or you could just crinkle it when it's dry...but thats too easy ;)

Once dry, I folded and tore the paper in half to make smaller pieces...I've always liked writing on smaller paper for some reason. You can leave it whole if you want of course!

And then I went to work burning the edges over a candle...be careful. I will say no more.

Once the edges are burned you have a finished product!!!
 And you can begin writing!
Yay!

I would love to hear or see any one's idea for homemade stationary! The friend I am writing painted hers with water colors! How beautiful!

Have a wonderful night friends, enjoy this gorgeous weather, and happy writing!
